Throwing a fun filled first birthday party doesn’t have to coast you an arm and a leg. Let’s face it, babies are easily entertained. So throwing a big extravagant event is more for us…Right? Well I’m going to tell you how to put together a great first birthday party for your baby with out breaking the bank.
Thrift shop- One of the first things you can do once you figure out the theme you would like your baby to have, is look around at your local thrift stores and goodwills. They are hit or miss of course, but it can save you a lot of money if you can find anything useful. You may even find something you didn’t know you needed. For example I found my son a pair of wrangler jeans for $1.99… yes you heard me right… $1.99!!! And he wore those very jeans at his birthday party.
Dollar stores-This is one of my favorite places to shop! Dollar tree has party supplies and they all cost a dollar! You can get balloons, Streamers, and utensils. I bought most of the party supplies I used from dollar tree and it saved me a ton.(the Pom Poms that made up these truffula trees cost a dollar for a pack of two)
I got the idea for these from Pinterest. It’s where most of my ideas came from…..
DIY- last but not least. Doing most of the work yourself can save you a lot of money in the long run. I made truffula trees, a balloon banner, a book cover banner, Seuss quotes and I even made Liam’s cake. It took work but it was worth it. My baby had a blast and the party turned out nice.
What ever your theme. Whatever your budget. You can have a party that won’t break the bank. If you have any additional questions about the things I used or made, feel free to leave me a comment.
